Acacia Individualized Program
Acacia by Benchmark©
Acacia by Benchmark© is a highly individualized, one-on-one transitional program that bridges the gap of adolescence and emerging adulthood by providing an additional layer of coaching and support needed to take that next step.
Student Characteristics
The Acacia student is generally 22-28 years of age with no substance or alcohol issues and able to live alone with moderate supervision. Acacia students have the ability to maintain their responsibilities, yet lack the initiative to move out of the family system and live independently. They require coaching and mentoring assistance with the management of their daily schedule, educational goals, work opportunities and interpersonal relationships.
Independent Life Skills for Transition
Acacia students learn to balance emotional, mental and spiritual needs while attending school; identify educational options and schedule classes; gain real-life work skills such as budgeting and shopping wisely, planning and cooking meals, apartment living, and learning to share roommate responsibilities. Students can learn to navigate the community by riding the bus and how to manage an automobile responsibly. Students can learn how to problem-solve more effectively and how to maintain healthy relationships with friends and family.
Acacia Life Coach
Independent Living Life Skills are provided by Benchmark’s coaching and mentoring staff in caring, non-judgmental approach. We empower students to have a practical and functional involvement in the process as they develop the essential life skills that are required to emerge into responsible adulthood.
