California Sober Living Program
Recovery by Benchmark© provides a more comprehensive treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction than a traditional stand-alone treatment program.
By combining our highly successful model of education, emotional growth and life skills with the Matrix Model “ready-made” intensive outpatient program (IOP,) we provide an all-inclusive recovery component for our students.

Aftercare
As the end of the 12 week curriculum approaches, students will develop a plan to either continue with Benchmark’s core curriculum, which integrates recovery with education, emotional growth and life skills, or create an exit strategy for their independent aftercare.
The Bronze Phase is the ideal aftercare option for recovery students. It provides continuity in their recovery process, a key element to maintaining sobriety. The Bronze Phase teaches basic life strategies and habits of successful living, providing the foundation for successful recovery.
The Silver Phase provides students with three months of continued sobriety aftercare and real-life practical application of skills. Students must obtain a part-time job and begin the process of understanding budgeting and finance while working their program of continued sobriety.
The Gold Phase is the final three months of our students' sober living program, which includes the option to live independently off property, the continuation of educational goals, maintaining their sobriety, working in the community and developing their financial responsibility. An exit plan will be determined during this phase.
Recovery Living
Recovery students will live at the State Street Apartments, Benchmark's student housing, with the other Benchmark Young Adult School students. The apartments are sectioned by gender and program level. Certified Life Coaches are staffed throughout the day and awake at night.
Sober Living Program Graduation
At the conclusion of each phase, students may choose to graduate, strategize their exit plan and move on. OR, they may continue into each subsequent phase of Benchmark's core curriculum, which is structured to provide the foundation and skills necessary for students to maintain their sobriety and learn to live at their own level of independence.
